Welcome to the web site of the Florida Gulf Coast Dachshund Club. Our club, established in
May or 1967, is dedicated to the health, welfare, betterment and improvement of the dachshund breed. Our members
actively participate in conformation, obedience, agility, field trials, tracking, Earthdog trials, Coursing & FastCAT,
and Rally obedience events. In addition to American Kennel Club events, we take part in community activities such as
Responsible Dog Owner's Day, visitations to schools and health facilities, and assist in dachshund rescue. We appreciate you visiting our web site and hope you will join us for our activities.
OUR OBJECTIVES To encourage and promote
the breeding of purebred Dachshunds and to do all possible to bring their natural qualities to perfection To urge members and breeders to accept the standard of
the breed as approved by the American Kennel Club as the only standard of excellence by which Dachshunds are judged To do all in its power to protect and advance the interests
of the breed by encouraging sportsmanlike competition at dog show events To conduct sanctioned and licensed specialty shows and
performance activities (field trials, obedience trials, rally etc)
